From 1 September 2026, EU-accredited CBAM verifiers can register in the CBAM Registry. The first verification reports can be issued from January 2027.
What this changes
- Importers can start short-listing verifiers and discussing site-visit logistics for Q1 2027.
- Suppliers, especially in India and Turkey, should be ready for a physical site visit in their first verified year.
What this does not change
- The first annual declaration deadline is still 30 September 2027 for 2026 imports.
- Non-EU bodies that aren’t EU-accredited cannot issue CBAM verification opinions, regardless of their domestic accreditation.
Our plan
- Cluster batching. Visits to Ludhiana and other Indian clusters are grouped so travel cost is split across many installations.
- Pre-verification check in the dashboard: run the data through the engine, see what the verifier will see, resolve gaps.
